That old cliche gets rolled out every January but let's face it it is a time we all make some resolutions to eat less and exercise more. I certainly feel a stumbling block to people starting and carrying on an exercise programme is previous injury or pain. This acts as a barrier to starting new exercise as we feel we might injure ourselves and in keeping it up as we start to feel aches and pains from the new regime.
Pilates is a great way to start your new exercise programme because it will build up your muscle strength from your core supporting your movements but it must be taught correctly and you must understand how the basic techniques work on your own body.
